On a Roll

It feels good to be back on Etsy! I posted a few new items this morning. It is a beautiful summery day here on Long Island. It is the last day of our Indian Summer it seems. Tomorrow the temperature drops in time for Halloween and all the festivities. It won't be so chilly that the children will need winter coats over their costumes but it also won't be so warm that they will be sweating bullets!

Fused glass is a wonderful medium if color is your thing. The richness of glass creates a magic that seems to glow from within. I have some wonderful autumn shades, some summery beachy items and some colors that go with everything! Take a look around and see what I have to offer.

Stop by my shop to see what is new and don't forget to take advantage of the Autumn or Summer Special 15% off anything in the shop with autumn colors red, yellow, orange, amber or brown!

Autumn or Summer Special!

If the choice were up to me it would be summer. I love the longer days, the beautiful flowers and trees, the beach in the evening. I am not a fan of winter, or as my friends will tell you, I am a whiner about winter! I have always ruined autumn worrying about the winter. The days are getting shorter, the air is getting chilly, the leaves are falling. Soon we will be hiding indoors with the heat and lights on at 4:30 in the afternoon. This year I have vowed not to ruin this beautiful season and to embrace it in all its glory. I have felt a big shift. I am enjoying the cooler air, I am savoring the fall fruits and veggies, I am taken by the beauty of the changing foliage. I have always loved these things but never enjoyed them as I am this year.

With that in mind, I have posted some new items in my Etsy store. Some are cool and summery and some are warm and reminiscent of autumn. The clear art glass has such depth and light within. I am drawn to the transparent colors because they appear to be filled with life, almost magical at times or in certain light. Take a look and enjoy! As a new lover of autumn, it is hard to choose which I like best! Now if only we had longer days.........

As a seasonal special I am offering 15% off any item in my Etsy Store that has any of the following fall colors: red, orange, yellow, amber or brown! This sale is in effect through Thanksgiving day. Have fun searching!

Where have I been??

Today I spent some time posting items in my Etsy shop. It has been a while so I wanted to get it up and running and a few things posted just to have a showing. Once I started poking around and updating things I realized it has been AGES!! YIKES! Where HAVE I been? Truthfully, I can't even begin to explain. Time has slipped away. So here I am! Back to Etsy! I'll be posting some new items weekly to keep it fresh and show some of my newer work.

I am planning on adding some new gift items that will be great for the holidays. Come back and visit and I promise it won't be so long next time!

Welcome Spring!!

Oh, WAIT!!! It is only January 14th!! Amidst this frigid air mass and pending snow, I can do nothing but daydream about spring. I love spring and the feeling of renewal that comes over me as I watch the buds begin to sprout on the trees, the grass becomes a little greener and spring flowers start to break through the no longer frozen ground.

So, in appreciation of spring I am offering a new sale through the end of January. Anything in my Etsy shop with green in it is on sale for 25% off. You find the green, you save some green! Make sure to mention GREEN and this blog when you order and wait for a revised invoice.

Happy shopping!

New items coming soon! Look for a sneak peek here!

Welcome December!

Yesterday's beautiful sunset was purely inspirational. The color, texture of the clouds, dramatic wisps with black silhouettes in the forground. It was striking but mostly, it stirred me. I ran to get my camera before it was gone. At first all I could do was curse the electrical lines that interfered with the view. But then, I stopped and realized, they are part of life, it is the reason I am here on this computer, electric is everywhere. It takes away from a view but it enhances so much of our lives. So, the power lines remain in my photo!

It is December! I am a person that violently refuses to give in to the coming of fall. I love spring and summer. I love the rebirth and new life that spring brings. I love the easier, more relaxed feelings of summer. Fall makes me think of dark days and bitter cold nights ahead. Somewhere around Halloween I finally give in to fall and suddenly, I embrace it! I love the colors, the fresh crisp air, the cooler brisker days. Then one day I wake up to Christmas music on the radio and I am surprisingly happy! I love Christmas! It makes me feel happy, joyous and grateful. My daughter is 9 and still believing. We stand on a precipice of pre-teen years that will change so many things in our household. Today I cherish these lasting moments of innocence, sweetness and wonderful childhood!

I love so many things about the Christmas season. I love the music at church, the adopt a family that we participate in, I love teaching my daughter about receiving and swaying her against gross consumerism. We live a fairly simple life. As a single mom, we often have to scale down on things. But we make up for it in so many other ways. We spend time together, we make gifts for family, we buy gifts for our church's adopt a family and bring food for the local food pantry. We sing Christmas songs and decorate our house. We go to local events in our teeny town like the tree lighting this Sunday. We make it happy, joyous, grateful and filled with good feeelings. Isn't that what it is all about anyway?

Now, back to the task at hand! I have added some new items to my Etsy shop including some new beach glass or sea glass jewelry. All of the glass was collected by my daughter and I on our wonderful little beach in our teeny town. I have recently received gifts of beach glass from friends as well. I also added some more recycled glass jewelry including some striking big glass hoop earrings. I have a few new items that are on their way to the kiln that I hope to post very soon.
